Welcome to Swoppit. These terms of service ("Terms") govern your use of the Swoppit website at www.swoppit.co.uk ("Service") operated by Swoppit ("we", "us", or "our").

By using our Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Swoppit is a grocery receipt analysis tool that:

• Reads receipt images or accepts manual entry of shopping items
• Analyses your purchases using AI
• Suggests cheaper alternatives with similar nutritional value
• Estimates potential savings

3. Free and Paid Tiers

Free Tier

Free users can analyse up to 3 receipts per calendar month. This limit resets on the 1st of each month.

Swoppit Pro (£2.99/month)

Pro subscribers get unlimited receipt analyses and additional features as they become available.

• Subscriptions are billed monthly via Stripe
• You can cancel at any time from your Stripe account
• No refunds for partial months
• Access continues until the end of your billing period after cancellation

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose
• Attempt to bypass usage limits or manipulate the Service
• Upload malicious files or content
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code
• Use automated systems to access the Service without permission
• Resell or redistribute the Service

5. Accuracy of Suggestions

Important: Swoppit provides suggestions based on AI analysis. We do not guarantee:

• The accuracy of prices shown (these are estimates based on typical UK supermarket prices)
• The availability of suggested products at your local store
• The exact nutritional equivalence of alternatives
• The actual savings you will achieve

Our suggestions are intended as helpful guidance, not financial or nutritional advice. Always check actual prices and nutritional information before making purchasing decisions.

6. Intellectual Property

The Swoppit name, logo, website design, and underlying technology are our intellectual property. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of our Service without written permission.

7. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your data.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the past 12 months (or £10, whichever is greater)
• We are not responsible for decisions you make based on our suggestions

9. Service Availability

We aim to keep Swoppit available 24/7 but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may suspend or discontinue the Service at any time for maintenance, updates, or other reasons. We'll try to give reasonable notice for planned downtime.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date and, for Pro subscribers, notify you via email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time. Pro subscribers can cancel their subscription through Stripe.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
